Jeff Humphrey's (They/Them) Permit Holder in Mental Health Counseling

As a mental health counselor, I place my focus on creating a space for my clients to feel seen, understand themselves, and create meaningful change within their lives. I combine techniques from Experiential therapies, Psychodrama, Existential Therapy, and other therapeutic modalities in order to help clients gain insights and integrate skills for improving their lives & wellbeing. I'm most interested in studying the intersections of emotions, psychology and language, especially as they come together in the various stories and roles that we each take part in. Ultimately, I hope that my clients can walk away with a better understanding of how to orient themselves towards a future they'd like to be a part of.

My goal is to create an inviting and accommodating counseling setting for each of my clients, and work at whatever level and pace they feel ready for. I've done a lot of work with clients on depression, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD symptoms, as well as helping people with struggles related to neurodivergence and relationships. I'm primarily interested in helping clients to integrate their unique emotional process, understand the impact of their past experiences in the present moment, and create and cultivate a more authentic sense of self.

I have a Master's of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Albany. Currently I am pursuing training in Psychodrama from Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute, and am looking to expand into other therapeutic modalities to meet my clients' needs.

I work with people who...

  • Want to integrate & understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

  • Want to develop skills for emotional regulation and breaking unhelpful thought patterns.

  • Are curious about themselves, and want to explore their inner-workings.

Miracle James (She/Her) Permit Holder in Mental Health Counseling

Hi there! I entered into the field of mental health as a teenager after volunteering as a youth mentor. During this time I came to understand the need for representation among people of color, especially in the space of healthcare. I value the intersection of identities and welcome all into my office, especially my black and brown clients.

I utilize a client centered approach, while providing a balance between giving unconditional positive regard and highlighting incongruences in thought and behavior. I strive to create a non-judgmental environment that fosters growth and healing, tackling problems with a solution focus lens. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and young adults to organize and integrate self-care and emotional regulation to help create balance within their lives, in order for them to thrive and grow.

I have experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and autism. Specifically, young adults who are in the coming of age stage in life, as well as those experiencing challenges with behavioral issues, parenting, and major life changes. I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, art, and play therapy when engaging with clients.

I have a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Albany. I have also been trained in Applied Behavior Analysis and have completed 130 hours of professional training at the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute.

I work with people who…

  • Need help regulating their emotions.

Brittany Law (She/Her) Permit Holder in Mental Health Counseling

To me, practicing therapy means providing a space and relationship in which people can feel heard, understood, and validated. I want to create an environment where my clients can feel empowered to express themselves freely, without fear of judgment. Implementing a multiculturally-sensitive framework to the best of my ability is paramount in this goal – as is meeting each individual wherever they are at in their journey.
My counseling style incorporates aspects of various models and theories. I utilize elements of person-centered, emotion-focused, attachment, internal family systems, and somatic experiencing theories, to name a fair few. I also like to do art therapy exercises with those who are interested!
Above all, my style is flexible – molded to each individual’s unique needs. I interact with clients in a genuine way, aiming to develop real, positive, human relationships in which my clients may heal emotionally.
I have helped clients move toward goals related to managing anxiety and depression, developing self-compassion, navigating trauma, and improving interpersonal relationships. I also have experience working with the family/loved ones of people with substance abuse disorders, with people who struggle with codependency, as well as with those who are in their own substance use recovery journeys. I welcome more opportunities to work with individuals/ couples who see themselves in any of these descriptors.

I also work with people who…

  • Are struggling with self-destructive or otherwise unhealthy relational patterns.
  • Want to develop their ability to express emotions healthily.
  • Struggle with low self-worth or self-esteem.
  • Would like to develop or strengthen their mind-body connection.
  • Are interested in exploring or changing their relationship with spirituality.
  • Are looking for a safe person to talk to.
